To empower pastoralist communities in Wajir County to build resilience to climate change and achieve sustainable livelihoods through community-led development and environmental conservation initiatives.

A future where pastoralist communities in the Arid and Semi-Arid lands (ASAL) counties thrive in harmony with their environment, empowered to adapt to climate change and achieve sustainable livelihoods through innovative, community-led solutions.

What We Do?

Solution Gateways is a youth-led, indigenous Community-Based Organization (CBO) based in Wajir County, Kenya. Registered in March 2023, the organizations aims at empowering pastoralist communities in the dryland Northern Kenya to adapt and thrive amidst climate change through innovative, community-driven, and environmentally sustainable solutions.

Our core focus is on fostering environmental conservation and sustainable livelihoods within the unique context of Wajir County. We work hand-in-hand with local communities to co-create and implement climate-resilient initiatives that address their specific needs and challenges.

Our diverse projects encompass land restoration, optimized water management, sustainable agricultural practices, and comprehensive environmental education programs.

Through active engagement and empowerment of youth, women, and vulnerable populations, we build a more resilient, equitable, and sustainable society. We firmly believe that a healthy environment is essential for the well-being of both people and the natural world. Through our unwavering dedication, we foster a harmonious relationship between communities and their environment, ensuring a prosperous future for generations to come.

Our Objectives:

Enhance Environmental Conservation and Promote Climate Resilience: Protect and restore the fragile ecosystems of Wajir County through community-led initiatives, sustainable practices, and the strengthening of climate adaptation and mitigation capacities.

Empower Local Communities and Foster Sustainable Livelihoods: Facilitate the active participation of all community members in decision-making processes and support the development of diverse, resilient livelihoods that contribute to economic growth while ensuring environmental sustainability.
